IF: The (Human) Zoo

I hope the colours don’t look washed out - they didn’t scan well, and I didn’t have much success when I tried to make it look better, I have no clue where the spots came from either…
I had the idea for doing something along these lines before I got the IF prompt on friday - not too sure about it though - I haven’t used a dip pen in quite a long time and I’m very out of practice, but there’s only one cure for that.
I hope you enjoy it anyway 
And an endnote - lately IF has become huge, and faced by maybe 350+ entries I tend to feel a little overwhelmed - and I’m sure I’m not alone. As a consequence although I look at as many entries as I can I rarely leave comments now, so my apologies to you all - it’s not that I don’t appreciate your work, but simply that IF has become rather a large enterprise, and there are only so many hours in the day. On that note: If you choose to leave a comment I am double appreciative.

Great subtle line work and texture in your piece.
great linework on this.. i like the attention to detail in the faces, and the way that the “c” coming out of the cup looks like steam..
oh damn it - craig stole my words. well, at the risk of being redundant - LOVE the line work (that’s out of practice?? !!) and the “c” coming out of the cup is brilliant. i also really like the texture the colors seems to have - it might be the ’spots’ you were referring to, i’m not sure, but whatever it is i think it works.

I don’t know what the spots are: they’re greyish and in the background - but they don’t appear on the other scan I did yesterday.

This is a lovely idea. The bottom two came out quite well, and even the awkward arm of the first is charming.
As for IF: exactly. It’s like Illustration Oprah or something.
I like mr ruminative. Anyway, I know what you are talking about for IF - it is getting so huge. I’ll post early, but am usually # 150 or something like that. I know that there are catagories, but since I like most of the catagories, I try to look at as many as I can. I’ve taken to looking at the ones from people I “know”.
